I am unable to view my shares on my diskstation after my desktop was updated to update I've been in touch with Synology tech support, who tried to help but in the end said it must be a Windows issue.
Well It includes and has been reported by used to fix the issues people saw with before that update was released involving seeing NAS shares etc. I am running version From there I can see it's IP address is x. This problem results when an administrator, the owner of the file or folder, or a user with the Change Permissions permission for a file or Full Control permission for a folder, changes the access control list ACL on the file or folder.
Some of the changes that could deny a user access to a file or folder they should be able to access include:. The user or group was unintentionally removed from Group or User names on the file's or folder's Security tab. A conflict between share permissions and NTFS permissions was created when someone changes permissions without examining both types of permissions.

Looking at posts on the Synology forum seems this one is affecting different update versions in different ways, with no one definitive fix.
Is on going since the start of the November update. The second post would be worth a try I would say. And reboot fixes it Please note it should be used as temporary fix and should be reverted as soon there is more proper solution. Not the exact same issue as you but would be interesting to put Windows 10 on SMB1 and see if it works. However its not running with "Windows ACL" setting for the shares as the volume I have configured on it does not support this.
Maybe there was a change in to enforce a windows ACL share? The reason I say this is I can still access the shares just fine with the evaluation copy of Windows 10 on my laptop. Did you get any Windows Updates yesterday? Don't suppose the 'magically' fixed it?
If still no good perhaps try a clean up of the network interface and config. Again from an admin command prompt. I got the Windows update today, now running ver. But only if I do the following.
Plex synology access denied
So I can access the shares but only from "This PC" method Almost there I have no Synology software installed on the PC. Interesting, and that is with a connection open? Is that a File Explorer windows that opens or continues when the Synology icon is click in Network locations? TCP Well port used by What network ports are used by Synology services?
I tried to "Troubleshoot" Shared folder access and the error is "Your user account doesn't have permission to access the share". If I connect to the diskstation from the laptop and run get-smbconnection I see a line lists the credentials and dialect as 1. I get the same error as shown in my my first post, when I try and connect to my Windows 10 laptop as well.

I can't say I've ever tried to connect to it from within the Synology UI myself. I'm not sure how to access it to set up a server outside of the Synology UI. Can this be done through Plex if I sign in? I haven't found anything standing out that gives me the opportunity to access the NAS in a way to download the server application. Yeah, so just install the Plex package if you haven't already on the NAS.
Then on a seperate device go to the IP of your Synology From there you should be able to configure everything. Unfortunately, I'm getting the same error. No option even available to make any exceptions to the web browsers I try to use. Do you use the firewall on the NAS? Try temporarily disabling if you do. I don't have it on myself. If you primarily use Plex Media Server for watching content on your local network like streaming your favorite shows to your HDTV or smartphoneyou may not have given much though to the benefits of remote access. Most of the time you should have very little trouble setting up remote access to your Plex Media Server, but there are a few instances where your home network configuration can throw you a curve ball. If you need help with the initial setup and configuration of Plex Media Server, please refer to our getting started with Plex guide here.
During the initial setup of the Plex Media Server, the setup wizard prompts you to enable or disable remote access. While the default state is enabled, you may have opted at the time to disable remote access, or perhaps you inadvertently disabled it while messing around with the system settings later on. In addition to telling you that the server is accessible, the control panel will also indicate the internal IP address and port number of the Plex Media Server on your local network as well as external, or public, IP address and port number.
The Plex system automatically handles all the connection data as long as you are logged into the same Plex account on your media server and all your client devices. While remote access is generally headache free, sometimes you run into a hiccup or two. Both of these services allow for automatic port forwarding and if your router supports them, then Plex Media Server will automatically configure its own port forwarding. If UPnP is off, turning it on will allow Plex to automatically forward itself to the greater internet.
In rare situations, however, your network configuration can be conspiring against you. Routers have a feature known as Network Address Translation NAT that handles the complex task of juggling all the network requests coming into your single public facing IP against all the many internal IP addresses those requests are destined for. All by itself, the NAT system works awesome. For help dealing with that particular situation, as well as eliminating double NAT problems in general, check out our guide here.
To do so, you need to tell Plex Media Server you wish to manually specify the port number, and then, at the router level, assign a static IP address to your Plex Media Server computer and create a port forwarding rule.
Mount Synology share with NFS in Plex jail
How you set up a static IP address and port forwarding rules vary from router to router, but the general premise is the same. If you need more information on setting up a static IP address you can search for documentation for your specific router and read up on static IP addresses here.
Check out our full guide to port forwarding for more information, if you need it. Simply hop back over or to the Plex Media Server control panel to double check the server status page, and enjoy. In addition to being able to configure a large amount of storage at a low cost and freeing up your desktop or notebook from the workload, a Plex setup with a NAS drive offers features like 4K video transcoding, the ability to record TV shows for free, and much more. It also allows you to share your media library with others and even record free over the air TV with a compatible tuner.

Click that, then do a right-click on the empty window to the right to create a new folder. You can check the status of your uploads by clicking the up arrow in the top right corner of the Synology window. It is stupid that something like share a map from one server to a other server is a pain in the ass :.
