I started learning Tagalog back in or so. I had already spent about two years studying a language from India known as Hindi. It was slow going but a great experience. They use a different writing system, so after I mastered that, it was much easier. When I decided to learn Tagalog, I wanted to use some of the things that I found helpful when learning Hindi. One of those techniques is what this resource is all about. When I was learning Hindi, I found it very helpful to read through phrase books.
Every phrase book I found was organized into categories such as transportation, getting a hotel room, food, eating out, etc. I typed the ones I wanted to learn into an Excel spreadsheet.

I found it easy to move the sentences around that way. A real break through came for me when I decided to sort all the sentences alphabetically just for fun. It was like having a completely new list!
The structure of the language became much more evident to me with the list of sentences sorted alphabetically. That is what I did when I started learning Tagalog. I began to create a long list of sentences in Tagalog and English of things I wanted to learn. I also listed sentences that seemed unique to me, so I could study them further. I originally typed the sentences in random order.

I was just happy to have a list all in one place that I could easily scroll through. When I sorted the Tagalog sentences alphabetically, the structure of the language came alive, just like with Hindi, but even more so! Well, both Hindi and Tagalog use different word orders than English my native tongue. When I sorted my huge list of Tagalog sentences alphabetically, the sentences were sorted by the verbs!
Within the sentences that used the same verb, the sentences were ordered by subject. It became super obvious and intuitive. It is the opposite of English.
I think you can. When the sentences are sorted alphabetically not randomly or by topic for tourist! By the way. If you are not sure what siya means, or sila, you can look it up.Free Words Used :. Tagalog is my own language and aside from this I also have a dialect called Kankanaey. Ibaloy and Ilocano are two of the dialects that I also learnt along the way through my travels in my own homeland. In my country Philippineseach town or village have their own dialects. We have so many dialects in different parts of the Philippines. I come from Luzon, north of the Philippines. In my village, we speak Kankanaey and Ibaloy dialect.
If I was to go to the south of my country, I wouldn't be able to understand their dialects but we all speak Tagalog and English language which connects us all. It is a good thing we all speak our Tagalog language and English too.
We also formed another language called Taglish — a combination of Tagalog and English language. Because we speak a second language we tend to use both Tagalog and English together which is quite nice.
Most Filipinos speak English plus another language. I think it's true what I heard that we, Filipinos are great imitators. It can be a positive thing I guess. The thing is we learn the swear words as well but you know every country has them including us.
It depends on how we use them I suppose. It is hard to learn another language but if the desire, interest, and determination is there, it can be achieved. The thing with language is, it connects people from different parts of the world and I kind of like that especially the universal language which is English. Without the English Language, I don't know how we can all understand each other. So, I think it is good to learn a new language. I am not a qualified teacher by the way but I know how to translate our Tagalog language to English.
I write and speak both languages fluently. You can add Sir or Madam at the end of each questions or sentences if you prefer as a sign of respect. But if you are having a conversation in an informal way, you can omit the ho or po at the end of your sentences.
Filipino people are taught to be respectful to their elders and to guests or to anyone really, that is why you find "po" or "ho" at the end of their questions or sentences. We are very polite and respectful towards other people. It is the way we are brought up but sometimes we are influenced by other cultures. We, Filipinos are very resourceful and independent as well and try not to rely too much on others. Sometimes other cultures don't understand that.
But hey, that is what makes us who we are and am very proud to be a Filipino.

I hope that a few of this phrases might help you when you visit my country. It is nice to know a few words from other languages even just to ask for directions or the toilet. It is hard sometimes when you go to other countries where you can not speak and understand the language.
